EMERGENCY FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Acclaim Community Outreach has obtained grant funding through United Way to provide emergency food distribution via Gleaners Community Food Bank for individuals and families within the Metro Detroit area. It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to offer this service to those who are in need of food items during times of economic hardship. Food packages are available to anyone in need, whether a transitional housing/shelter resident, laid off worker, individual or family who has lost income due to cutbacks, prisoner re-entry, or whatever the case may be. Our organization welcomes all and will be happy to provide the needed assistance.
Identification is required when picking up food packages: a) Driver license or state ID.
If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please contact us at (313) 308-5935 or 36 and we will set up a time for food pick-up.
THANKSGIVING BASKETS
Each year, Acclaim Community Outreach Services provides nutritious food baskets to needy families during the holiday season. Although 30-40 families may receive baskets, the number may vary dependent upon in-kind and monetary donations received to make the event possible. ACOS does accept in-kind and monetary donations to assist in helping to provide individuals and families with a happy Thanksgiving holiday. All baskets are FREE of charge.
